300 Daffodils Planted on Gershal Ave
300 daffodil flower bulbs were planted by Nicholas Mesiano and friends to bloom in the spring 2025 season and beyond.
Daffodils are a perennial, meaning they will come back every year and further multiply.
Bulbs are planted in the fall after harvested from growers.
"I hope to plant more this fall and will need volunteers around October. My goal is to have daffodils, hyacinth, and other spring flowers run the entire length of Gershal from Garden to Jessie Bridge"
For this year, you can expect to see daffodils along Gershal in a few key spots including the corner of Almond x Gershal and the new Brotmanville sign at Garden x Gershal.
A variety of types have been planted, from white to yellow to multi-colored:
Some purple tulips were also planted, but these were just special for this year.
Although daffodils are perennial here, tulips typically do not come back every year in New Jersey.
Look forward to calls for volunteering this fall to help plant daffodil bulbs along Gershal Ave!
