Successful Gershal Ave Beautification Test
Recently Save Pittsgrove organized a small crew to test a new concept: Planting daffodil & tulip bulbs.
300 bulbs were planted the length of Gershal Ave from Garden road to Landis Avenue.
Daffodils were selected because they will multiply & return every year in the spring time.
Tulips are much less likely to return year-after-year, though a few cultivated varieties were tested in the chance a local perennial is discovered.
Daffodil and tulip bulbs are planted in the fall.
In the upcoming 2025 fall season, Save Pittsgrove hopes to plant anywhere from 1000-10,000 bulbs along Gershal anywhere home owners opt-in.
Volunteers will be needed to help form bulb planting crews.
